Iron Chef (IC) is a popular #eduprotocol that focuses on building student mastery for reading and writing summary statements. IC is an instructional framework to scaffold students’ critical thinking and writing skills for crafting better paragraphs. IC is designed to lead to student mastery of content standards and the 4Cs using Google Slides as the medium. Students develop skills in research, summary writing, visual design and communication. The benefits for teachers include an open-ended framework in which they can drop any content, give minimal prep time, and can grade while walking around (GWA). Participants will experience the upbeat tempo of Iron Chef and then have the option to create their own IC experience for their students.
