Are your students creative, effective communicators? Foster future-ready skills and discover digital storytelling as a vehicle for student voice, choice, and creativity. Infuse your curriculum with the power of video creation as a way for students to flex their creative muscles and showcase their learning. Whether your classroom is project-based or blended, this session will lead participants in a lesson that you can use on Monday!

During this one hour hands-on classroom simulation geared toward beginning movie makers, participants will engage in the “Thousand Words Project” by writing short content-area specific narratives based on a collection of primary source media. Attendees will use the WeVideo platform to create a complete digital story, including images, voiceovers, and music. Throughout the session, presenters will demonstrate the user-friendly features of WeVideo and scaffold the creative process as attendees access the media library, record voiceovers, and add music. You will leave this session empowered to bring the power of movie-making to your students.
