Hear the origin story of how Cassie Brooker’s high school biology class became more student-centered by changing the environment. The star of the show is Steelcase’s Verb Active Media Table, adding ten additional TVs to the learning space. Combined with changes to power, lighting, and storage, this space is more visual, more flexible, and gives more student ownership, inclusion, movement, and choice.

An Invitation to Create an Inspiring Learning Space

Outside of our schools, we have seen an increasing intersection between the virtual and the physical world, yet our classrooms have largely remained unchanged for over 100 years. This problem spurred Laguna Beach Unified School District in California to embark on an ambitious journey called the “4Cs Learning Environments” (4CLE) to re-envision how to improve learning by creating inspiring learning spaces.  This thought-provoking session will challenge you to rethink the classroom.  This session will also invite you to participate in the next level of classroom design called "The Living Classroom".
